“The grandma cooks while the grandpa plays piano, and their granddaughter is the server!” 👵 👩‍🦰 👴

A friend of mine recommended that I visit the restaurant Chef's Grandma in Tbilisi Georgia, and she was excited to share that story with me.

It's a cute story, except I learned… it's not quite true!

When I visited Chef's Grandma, I loved the entire experience (including the delicious Georgian food), so I approached them about featuring their story in a Travel is Life video.

That's when I learned that my friend actually had the story all wrong. In fact, MOST people who visit this restaurant get the story wrong.

The staff here at Chef's Grandma are certainly a family…. they're just not *technically* related! Everyone just thinks they are.

For a moment I thought to myself, “Well, if they're not really family, what kind of story am I supposed to tell?”

However after talking to Linda and Ledi and learning about the TRUE story of this little restaurant, I realized just how much of a FAMILY they actually are.

Which got me thinking… “What actually makes a family nowadays anyway?”

I come from a combined family. My older brother Jason and I have the same mom but different dads. However a few months ago, as our two sets of parents ate dinner together and celebrated Father's Day as one big family, it got me thinking… At the end of the day (or year, or decade), “family” is who are still with you through the good times and the bad. Simply being there is 80% of the gig.

So please enjoy today's video about this remarkably family restaurant I discovered, and then tell me…. Who's your family?
