Meet Andrea, a school teacher who's traveled to 72 countries and counting! She doesn't come from a wealthy family and her work doesn't pay for her to travel. So what's her secret? Watch this short and inspirational video to find out. You can also watch and share this video on Facebook and YouTube.
I met Andrea in Medellín Colombia earlier this year and was fascinated by her life. She proves that when there's a will, there's a way, especially when it comes to traveling the world. Our paths crossed again in Quito Ecuador several months later and I convinced her to help me put together this video and share her inspirational story. I hope this video helps spread the message that if she can do it on a teacher's salary, then it's time for YOU to travel the world!
Video Transcript
PAUL: This is Andrea. She's traveled to 72 countries and counting. Her work doesn't pay for her to travel. She does not come from a wealthy family. She does not have a sugar daddy. So how does Andrea travel the world?
ANDREA: I'm just a school teacher!
PAUL: Andrea takes two year contracts at international schools around the world. And then in the summers and on breaks, she travels.
ANDREA: I taught five years in the middle east and during that time I visited over 50 countries.
PAUL: Was Andrea scared?
ANDREA: Of course I was scared. You just do it anyway.
PAUL: But before teaching abroad, Andrea's first job after college was teaching Kindergarten in Austin TX.
ANDREA: I heard a teacher friend was doing it, and I asked around, attended a conference, and the next thing I knew, I had a 2 year contract in Kuwait. I got to travel the Middle East, Europe, Southeast Asia, and now I'm traveling South America!
PAUL: If she can do it…
ANDREA: On a teacher's salary!
PAUL: Then it's time for you to…
ANDREA: Travel the world!
