Mark Twain

Hey traveler, while you’re here join my friends list to get all the perks I offer at Travel is Life.

“Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime.” – Mark Twain

I wholeheartedly agree with that statement by Mark Twain from his book The Innocents Abroad: Roughing It. Travel is good for you. Good for the world. And good for our souls. Generally we're scared of what we don't know – and travel fills that void about each other.

I've been working on an essay for over a year entitled Why Travel is Good, but it's not complete. It might never be complete. There are too many reasons. I genuinely believe that many of the world's problems regarding prejudice and racism would be healed by travel. It's a gift I wish everyone had the opportunity to share. So much in fact that from day one of this business, I committed to donating a portion of net profits from the Travel is Life Shop and from any affiliate revenue generated by my Travel Buyer Guides towards providing scholarships for students to help offset the costs of traveling abroad. You can read more about the Travel is Life Study Abroad Scholarship.

Mark Twain knew it in 1869. And you and I know it in 2017. Travel is good. Travel is life. Do some good and help spread the word about the benefits of travel. After all, any excuse is a good excuse to travel right?
