Lake Nicaragua, the largest freshwater lake in Central America, is home to more than 430 volcanic islands and contains species of fish and sharks which don't exist anywhere else in the world!

I used to go there all the time when I lived in Nicaragua. It's a beautiful lake. Hopefully it will remain beautiful and President Ortega won't allow the Chinese to build a canal through the lake. (That's unfortunately a real possibility. Google it.)
