It's no secret that I love MAPS and GLOBES – and on this website I often recommend products to get kids excited about traveling the world like these 16 Interactive Maps & Globes. And recently, I even came out with my own World Map Coloring Poster because that's how passionate I am about bringing travel into the home. I feel that every home should have a world map – so why not a one of a kind map that you created?
You might love my new map. (I hope you do.) You might not. (That's okay too.) Either way, I wanted to show you some other travel-themed coloring projects that make great gifts for your friends and family who love to travel AND color. I focused on coloring books that are at a difficulty level that would be fun for either kids or adults.
#1 Travel Between The Lines with Geoff & Katie
Meet Geoff & Katie – a couple who travels the world and creates travel-themed coloring books of their adventures. Each page is based on a real scene they collected during their 10 years of travel, focusing on cityscapes, street scenes, and details from around the world. They've currently got available for sale their flagship book entitled Travel Between The Lines which features 47 hand drawn illustrations from 29 countries around the world. And they've also got additional coloring books for Mexico City and Rome. I love their illustrations and I also love supporting other travel bloggers so definitely check out Geoff & Kate's books!
#2 Coloring the West: An Adult Coloring Book for Travelers by Donna L Hull
Let's continue the support for travel bloggers who create amazing travel themed coloring books and check out Donna Hull's Coloring the West: An Adult Coloring Book for Travelers, which features 35 pages of Donna and her husband Alan's memories of Western travel adventures. In this book you'll find her favorite travel scenes from Colorado, Utah, Arizona and Montana as well as scenic landscapes, historical buildings, wildlife and nature close-ups. She also includes a coloring guide in the back of the book for guidance, or she says you can just color it anyway you want!
#3 Ultimate Travel Coloring Book by Lonely Planet
To create the Ultimate Travel Coloring Book, the travelers at Lonely Planet voted their top 100 greatest places to travel, which they feel are the most thrilling, memorable, and downright interesting places on the planet, and then created a page for each one in their book. Plus at the end of the book, you'll find a description of each place to encourage you to go. With 100 different destinations, this one will take you all over.
#4 Around The World In 50 Pages by ColorIt
From a well-known leader in adult coloring books comes Around The World in 50 Pages, a book that takes you through famous locations in London, Paris, Italy, Greece, and Russia, and through cityscapes in New York Time Square, The Las Vegas Strip, Venice Canals, Hong Kong Harbor, The Golden Gate, and more. What's unique about this book is its top spiral binding and perforated pages, which means the fold won't get in your way while coloring whether you're right or left handed.
#5 Splendid Cities: Color Your Way to Calm by Rosie Goodwin & Alice Chadwick
Real world meets fantasy in Splendid Cities, a coloring book that takes you on a world tour of floating kingdoms, spooky cities, the domes of Moscow, the Eiffel Tower, and a combination of real places you'd love to visit and imagined places you've never heard of. This coloring book is a great mix of fantasy and geography so that you can travel through both the real world and the unknown.
#6 Fantastic Cities: A Coloring Book of Amazing Places Real and Imagined by Steve McDonald
Fantastic Cities is an impressive coloring book that I spent time browsing through when I was looking for inspiration for my World Map Coloring Poster. This unique coloring book features aerial views of real cities from around the world alongside illustrated architectural mandalas. And if you like this illustrator's style, check out his other coloring book too called Fantastic Planet.
#7 The One and Only Coloring Book for Travelling Adults
The illustrations in The One and Only Coloring Book for Travelling Adults aren't exclusively travel related or cityscapes like the other coloring books on this list, but the name of the book comes from the fact that it was made specifically for travelers in mind with its compact size and ring bound spine. The illustrations themselves feature a diverse combination of abstract and realistic images like patterns, animals, plants, and cities.
#8 Vintage Travel Postcards Coloring Book by Jodie Randisi
I love the concept behind this Vintage Travel Postcards Coloring Book because vintage postcards are awesome! Some people said in the reviews that the paper is a bit thin in this book, but if you're coloring it just for fun and not to actually send as postcards then you should find enjoyment in this one.
#9 Passport to Imagination by Alycia Pace
Passport to Imagination features detailed, iconic images of countries, cultures, landmarks and people all around the world by illustrator Alycia Pace with designs ranging in complexity from beginner to expert-level. Embark on a journey from Japan to Mexico, Russia to Australia, and find yourself wishing you could step in the pages – as one reviewer wrote.
#10 Sketches from the South of France by Wendy Dewar Hughes
Here's a fun book of postcard-sized hand drawings of South of France drawn by the author's personal memories of having lived there and loved it. Enjoy experiencing France's sights, sounds, and delights in this fun coloring book. Although despite the title, the author makes note that they are NOT actual postcards – just postcard-sized illustrations.
#11 50 F Words From Around The World
Now this one, I had to include because it sounds hilarious, but it's probably best to keep this one away from the kids! 50 F Words From Around The World is, well, exactly what it sounds like! Journey around the world to discover the most impolite way to communicate. Not for the faint of heart.
#12 Happy Days Coloring Books (NEW!)
Andrea and her husband Mark have been traveling for the better part of the past two decades. They document many of their travels on their Happy Days Travel Blog. Aside from traveling, coloring is Andrea's guilty pleasure, and a few years ago she found a way to combine her two passions with a set of adult coloring books that feature colorable black and white photographs from her travels. She's got books for Benin, Togo, Ganvie, Markets of West Africa, Tobago, Trinidad, Castara, Trento, the Fiat 500, and more on the way in 2020. I discovered Andrea's coloring books today when she joined the Travel is Life Creators – our community of professional travel bloggers – and I'm excited to add her books to this list.
12 More World Travel Coloring Books
The books above are some of my favorites, but the list of travel themed coloring books goes on and on! So forgive me for not writing a description of each one, but here are some more good ones to check out.

What an interesting post this is! I had no idea there were so many available. Even Lonely Planet has one on offer! This would make a great gift for someone I know and she would love it.
Such a good round up! Like titles says, we might not be kids anymore but we want it haha. Splendid cities is a really nice one. Maybe our fav!
I never really got into colouring when I was younger, but these travel themed colouring books look like the perfect way to sate my wanderlust whilst also relaxing and winding down after my day. There are so many to choose from, I might get some for my traveller friends for Christmas.
My hubby got one of these as a gift a couple of years ago, great way to relax and pass the time on those long, long flights. You’ve given me some new ideas for Christmas gifts, thanks.
